Anike Titilai – a phrase deriving from Nigerian Yoruba language – roughly translates to ‘she who must be cherished forever’. And when you understand that, you understand why it’s the name Grace Mosuro chose for her premium jewellery brand.
Taking inspiration from traditional Nigerian adornment, Grace creates jewellery you are likely no stranger to: waist beads that accentuate the waist (and said to help ‘maintain’ a woman’s shape), and beaded necklaces and anklets. There’s just one key difference, and that’s that they’re handcrafted with semi-precious crystals and stones.
“I discovered healing crystals a number of years ago, and became more familiar with them in 2018 when my father died and I was struggling to heal from the loss,” Grace shares. “Having experienced the personal benefits of them for myself, it was essential for me to incorporate them into my jewellery line.”
From yellow jade – said to attract good luck and wisdom (and aid poor digestion!) to obsidian, known to shield against negativity, Anike Titilai’s pieces aren’t just beautiful to look at. It’s the intent of which they’re worn with that’s just as wonderful to behold.

A golden question I had for Grace: how do you ensure your waist beads are cared for the best way? I’ve fallen victim to beads – albeit plastic and not quite as luxurious as these – snapping off just after they’ve become second nature to my skin. “The great thing about my pieces is that they’re created with a clasp. I always advise to remove it before showering, and taking as much care as you would with any piece of fine jewellery.” Waist beads that aren’t made from string that easily snaps off? Music to my ears.
